As businesses and other organizations are trying to do their part, plastic surgery professionals say this is a way they can give back to those who serve.

Los Angeles plastic surgery specialists are seeing a lot of facial injuries with explosives with the recent wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. They say that these soldiers come in with have a lot of scars from wartime that don't show, and if they can help these service men and women with the scars that do show, that may help make their return to civilian life a little easier.

And according to another local expert Los Angeles plastic surgeon, it just seemed like this was a good opportunity where cosmetic surgeons could use their skills, experience and offer their services. This is something they can do as it's easy for them to do surgery – it is something what they do everyday. It’s a way the aesthetic plastic surgery community can do something to show their gratitude and appreciation to the troops. Los Angeles cosmetic surgeons are able to provide not only facial plastic surgery but a wide range of body contouring procedures as well. The Making Of A Beautiful Nose

Although there are aesthetic guidelines as to what constitutes an attractive nose, for each face it takes a different nose to create an appropriate harmony and balance. According to a top cosmetic surgeon Beverly Hills patients can take advantage of nose reshaping surgery (rhinoplasty) which can help enhance the appropriate balance between the nose and facial features.
Rhinoplasty Beverly Hills
With Regard To Nose Plastic Surgery Los Angeles Rhinoplasty Surgeons Can Achieve The Following Effects:

The hump on the bridge of the nose can be removed
The boxy or bulbous tip of the nose can be refined
Droopy nose can be rotated up
A long nose can be made shorter
A wide nose can be narrowed
Certain traumatic deformities of the nose can be improved or corrected
Certain causes of nasal airway obstruction can be treated

In some patients with a small chin, a chin augmentation may improve the balance between the face and the nose. A detailed analysis of your nose and facial features will be performed during your consultation. As with all plastic surgery operations like rhinoplasty or tummy tuck Los Angeles patients can expect to discuss potential options with their surgeons regarding all their facial and body reshaping needs.

How is nasal reshaping (rhinoplasty) done?
Rhinoplasty in some patients can be performed using local analgesia and sedation. General anesthesia is used in other patients. The choice of anesthesia depends on the type of nasal reshaping to be performed, your preference, and your medical condition. For most rhinoplasty patients, we place incisions inside the nose. The sutures are absorbable and do not need to be removed. In some patients a small incision may need to be placed at the base of the nose.

What is recovery like following rhinoplasty Beverly Hills patients often ask. Intranasal dressings, if used, will be removed on day 2 or 3 after surgery. You will have a splint on your nose that will be removed on day 5 or 6 after surgery. Most swelling will resolve within several weeks. However, it may take up to a year for all swelling to resolve completely. Most patients are very pleased with the results. Some patients request a touch-up procedure to further refine the results.

Where was the first nose job performed?

Los Angeles Nose SurgeryNose reshaping surgery (rhinoplasty) is not a recent procedure. It was first performed in ancient India by Sushruta , 500 BC. Amputation of noses was one way to punish for crime in India at that time. An Indian physician, Sushruta, was the first to perform rhinoplasty to restore the shape of the nose. Sushruta later described his rhinoplasty techniques in his text Sushruta Samhita. Today Los Angeles nose surgery ranks among the most frequently performed procedures.

Despite the fact this procedure has existed for centuries, any  Los Angeles plastic surgeon would agree that rhinoplasty remains the most challenging procedure in plastic surgery. Every person has a different nose and requires a unique approach. In addition to changing the shape of the nose, the breathing function of the nose needs to be improved in many patients. The goal of Los Angeles rhinoplasty is to produce an attractive naturally appearing nose with patent nasal airways.

How to Find a Plastic Surgeon in Los Angeles

Whether you are looking for the perfect Los Angeles breast augmentation, liposuction, tummy tuck, nose job, or all of the above, finding the right plastic surgeon is definitely the most important first step. You may have seen news stories about when bad plastic surgery happens to good people. You would think that if the “doctor” in question is making house calls, and doesn’t seem to have an office anywhere, you may not want to trust him with such serious procedures. Alas, doctors who are unlicensed, unqualified, and inexperienced still seem to get away with “Botox parties” and other equally devious plans of plastic surgery. Use your common sense, people. Los Angeles cosmetic surgery is not something to be taken lightly, or to be done under local anesthesia in somebody’s kitchen.

When shopping around for the right Los Angels cosmetic surgeon, you want to focus on a few specific aspects like education, certifications, success, consistency, quality of staff and facilities, etc. However, finding a good quality Los Angeles plastic surgeon mainly comes down to a combination of talent and experience.

Many surgeons’ skills advance with their experience. The more patients they have, the more procedures they perform, and the more procedures they perform, the more experience they acquire. Make sure your surgeon is seeing patients regularly, and look at pictures of the results. There should be some consistency there. If a surgeon only has a few pictures to show you, it might not be a good indication of his or her experience.

Another important factor to consider is the site of your Los Angeles plastic surgery center and the anesthesia provider. The best suggestions are either a private, accredited surgical center, or an outpatient ambulatory surgery facility. Two other options for setting are a non-accredited private facility or hospital. These settings are not highly recommended because there are no quality control standards in non-accredited private facilities, and hospitals are environments in which risk of infection is high.

These are just some of the factors to consider in choosing the right Los Angeles plastic surgeon for you. You should be able to schedule a consultation with the doctor first, in order to get an idea of who he/she is, their accreditations and experience, staff and office settings, as well as be able to talk through your questions and concerns about the procedures you have in mind. Some surgeons have more expertise in rhinoplasty, some have more expertise in liposuction. It is important that your doctor provide you with all the answers you are looking for, as well as an environment in which you feel safe and comfortable.

Six pack abs in less than an hour

Abdominal etching Los Angeles or six pack liposuction (liposculpture) is an effective procedure to define abdominal muscles or sculpt a six pack contour in the abdominal area. Many men and women devote a large portion of their exercises to building abdominal muscles (also referred to as a six pack). However, even with exercise, not everybody can achieve that athletic six pack definition. Some people find it difficult to increase the thickness of the abdominal muscles even with strenuous abdominal exercises. In others, abdominal muscles may be covered with a fatty skin layer which hides the definition of the muscles.

Abdominal etching (six pack liposculpture) works for both groups including people who do not exercise abdominal muscles. Abdominal etching can be combined with Los Angeles liposuction of other areas such as flanks and lower back. This Los Angeles plastic surgery procedure is performed through small 3mm incisions. Sedation (twilight sleep) or general anesthesia is typically used for patients’ comfort. Patients typically go home the same day following abdominal etching. Most patients return to work in 2-5 days after the procedure. An abdominal binder is worn for 2-3 weeks. Each week following abdominal etching, the six pack definition of the abdomen will become more and more obvious until final results are achieved 2-3 months later.

New Developments in Science Could Phase Out Certain Plastic...

Recently reported in Yahoo News and the Washington Times, new developments in stem cell technology may produce new techniques in Los Angeles breast augmentation. While many procedures rely on Los Angeles breast implants, like silicone, saline, or the new gel “Gummy Bear” implants, scientists now have a way to grow new tissues using a patient’s own stem cells. These procedures have gained much popularity in the past decade, however we are all familiar with certain drawbacks of the procedures. Most Los Angeles cosmetic surgery procedures like breast augmentation, liposuction, tummy tucks, etc. are invasive and complicated procedures.

They mostly all require anesthesia, healing time, and the possibility of looking unnatural, or wearing down over time. Stem cells, on the other hand, have the ability to multiply and differentiate into many different types of cells, including fat, tissues, bone, muscle, organs, even neurons. By harvesting stem cells from the patients own bone marrow or fat tissues, growing more and coaxing them into becoming certain tissue types, when injected, they could create small portions of the patient’s own natural tissue as say, a natural breast implant. No cutting, no anesthesia, completely “biocompatible.” If research and development of stem cells continue, though now limited to outside the U.S., many a Los Angeles cosmetic surgeon may be finding a new calling.

Facial Aesthetics and the Emotions They Portray

A study in a recent issue of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery®, the official medical journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), found that variations in eyebrow shape, eyelid position, and wrinkles significantly impact how your facial expressions, and subsequent mood, are perceived by others. Many of those seeking Los Angeles plastic surgery for the face tell their doctors, other people tell them that they look tired even though they don’t feel that way. The study showed that variations in eyebrow contour, drooping of the upper eyelid, and wrinkles may be conveying facial expressions that don’t necessarily match how patients are feeling. In the study, a standardized photo of a youthful face was digitally altered to change a number of variables, including eyebrow shape and position; upper and lower eyelid position; upper eyelid drooping and removal of excess skin; and facial wrinkles. Twenty health care workers were given 16 photos and asked to rate, on a scale of 0 to 5, the presence of seven expressions or emotions: tiredness, happiness, surprise, anger, sadness, disgust, and fear. The results for each altered photo were compared with scores from the original unaltered photo. Overall, eyebrow shape had a greater influence than absolute position on perceived mood.Tiredness
Drooping of the upper eyelid was the biggest indicator of tiredness, according to the study. Simulating skin removal of the upper eyelid, as performed in some
Los Angeles eyelid surgery procedures, but not correcting accompanying eyelid ptosis (drooping), resulted in an increase in the perception of tiredness (and sadness). Photos that included an overall elevation of the eyebrows or an increase in the distance between the eyebrow and upper eyelid also increased the perception of tiredness.Anger & Disgust
Lowering or slanting the inner corner of the eyebrows towards the nose, as well as adding forehead winkles significantly increased the perceived facial expressions of anger and disgust.Fear & Surprise
Raising the upper eyelids produced an increase in the perception of surprise and fear. Also, raising the outer corner of the eyebrows produced an increase in the perception of surprise.Sadness
Raising the inner corner of the eyebrows away from the nose was perceived as a sad facial expression.
Happiness
Happiness was perceived by raising the lower eyelid and the presence of crow’s feet, which, according to the study, seem to simulate the cheek elevation that occurs with smiling.
Correcting certain facial aesthetics through Los Angeles facelift or browlift procedures can cause a dramatic effect in the way a patient’s emotions are perceived by others. Facial expression are relatively universal to all people. The way your emotions are perceived directly affects the way other people communicate with you, verbally as well as nonverbally. Therefore facial expression should be a factor in how patients and their Los Angeles plastic surgeon select various rejuvenation procedures. Rhinoplasty in Ancient India

Los Angeles plastic surgery is commonly mistaken for getting its name from the word “plastic.” In fact, the word “plastic” has its root in the Greek word “plastikos” meaning to give something shape or form. Researchers now have found evidence that shows procedures similar to the Los Angeles cosmetic surgery procedures we are aware of today, were performed by ancient physicians in India 800 years before Christ. The most popular procedure in Ancient India was similar to that of Los Angeles nose surgery. In India, noses were considered to be symbols of pride, and so they proved to be quite tempting targets during warfare. Besides the multiple damages to Indian noses as a result of warfare, other noses required surgical repair following the damage brought on by punishment for legal transgressions. Amputation of the nose was considered proper and just punishment for a multitude of offenses, including adultery. The roots of ancient Indian surgery go back to more than 4000 years ago.

Sushrutha, one of the earliest surgeons of recorded history (600 B.C.) is believed to be the first individual to describe Rhinoplasty. The detailed description of the Rhinoplasty operation by Sushrutha is amazingly meticulous, comprehensive and relevant today, similar to that of Los Angeles rhinoplasty. 'Sushrutha Samhitha' is considered to be the most advanced compilation of surgical practices prevalent in India around two thousand millennia ago. In 'Sushruta Samhita', Sushruta emphasized all the basic principles of plastic surgery and vividly described numerous operations in various fields of surgery with significant contributions to Plastic Surgery.

Famed Plastic Surgeon Dies at 42

Many a Los Angeles plastic surgeon join in paying tribute to Martin Kelley, one of Britain’s leading cosmetic surgeons, who died of a heart attack in his west London home. He was known as the “king of rhinoplasty” in celebrity circles, and was married to well-known actress Natascha McElhone, currently pregnant with the couple’s third child. Several doctors in Britain and America have commented on the tragedy of losing such a gifted and respected surgeon. British celebrities, cosmetic surgeons and Los Angeles rhinoplasty experts agree, his work was marvelous, and it is such a misfortune that his career ended so early. There has always been a welcomed and hearty exchange of ideas between London and Los Angeles cosmetic surgery, as both cities are at the epicenters of the industry. The loss has definitely been felt across seas. Friends and family of the doctor commented on his talents outside of the operating room as well. A close friend said, "As well as being a brilliant doctor, he painted, wrote his own music [and was] a great sportsman. He was just terrific and a true Renaissance man." Los Angeles tummy tuck experts have also marveled at Dr. Kelley’s work, saying, "He was one of the most capable plastic surgeons Britain has ever produced."

Believe it or not, Los Angeles Plastic Surgery patients are often men. Gone are the days when men were unconcerned about their looks, now more and more men are turning to the magic of Cosmetic Surgery. Any Los Angeles cosmetic surgeon will tell you that quite a few cosmetic surgery procedures are popular among men.

Here is my top 5 or Fave 5 (Whats your take? Let me know!)

Imagine walking down Rodeo Drive with a nonchalant air, with your newly designed chin attracting furtive (and appreciative) glances.
  2. Tummy Tuck : I can almost hear the murmurs – but its true! Los Angeles Abdominoplasty experts keep mentioning men guzzling beers and hopping on tummy tuck expresses.
  3. Liposuction : This one is a given, and usually done with tummy tuck. In fact, there is a rumor that one Los Angeles Liposuction Expert has brought on a new 2 for 1 deal (You guessed it, one combination Tummy Tuck and Liposuction and another combo free (for the wife, that is!)
  4. Rhinoplasty : Remember the Greek Gods? Last we saw them as statues. Prepare for an avalanche of Greek Godlike looks, with aquiline noses and firm bodies invading the streets of LA. Your nose causing you embarrassment? Head for Los Angeles Rhinoplasty surgeons for the cure.

5.      Breast Reduction : Don’t tell me you need an explanation for this one.

Rhinoplasty, Becoming a Whole New You

Of all the prominent features most people tend to be self-conscious about, the nose seems to be the most often named. We have seen countless changes to noses over the years, and as we have come to understand, even gorgeous celebrities can be self-conscious about their looks as well. Some of these changes aren't so noticeable, but some are quite stunning. Most recently, and model of a complete transformation, is Ashley Simpson, who lives in Encino, CA.

If you compare pictures from before and after her Los Angeles nose surgery, she looks like a whole new person. Her nose is much more petite, attractive, and her facial features are notably softened. She and many other LA stars have been spotted looking completely different from what they used to. Winona Ryder, Li'l Kim, Janet Jackson, Jennifer Grey, these are just some examples of Los Angeles Rhinoplasty, completing glamorous makeovers which have set new and more alluring beauty standards. As more and more celebrities are coming out with their work, the stigma of plastic surgery has greatly dwindled. People who talk about their own nose jobs often say that they always hated their noses, felt unattractive and insecure but were unsure of going the lengths to have the actual rhinoplasty procedure.

Afterwards, however, were extremely satisfied with the results, felt more confident, attractive and much more at ease with their appearances. Many also wonder what took them so long to have the procedure done, and why they didn't do it earlier. Also, some nose surgery patients are cases with a deviated septum, or broken bones in the nose, which rhinoplasty can fix. But with so many cosmetic surgeon in Los Angeles, who can you turn to for the best possible results, not to mention the best care during recovery time? Dr. Vladimir Grigoryants, Glendale plastic surgeon performs rhinoplasty as well as breast plastic surgery, body contouring, and other facial and neck procedures, serving Encino, Burbank, Pasadena, Beverly Hills, and the greater Los Angeles area. Dr. Grigoryants always ensures all patients are fully consulted, aware of all the technical aspects, and are the right candidate for every procedure.
